Shropshire Sheep

As its name suggests the Shropshire sheep originate from the borders of Shropshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire and date back to the early 1800’s. The breed is renowned for its ability to graze, without damaging the bark of trees, whilst being hardy enough to withstand our good old British weather conditions.

Here at Manor Farm our flock can often be seen grazing within our newly planted orchard thus maintaining a naturally weed free and cropped environment for our fruit trees to flourish.

The Shropshire breed has been developed to produce a good carcass confirmation with high quality succulent meat for the butcher’s counter.
